The Gold Standard for addressing crowding, spacing and bite issues. Full treatment includes braces on upper and lower teeth.
A popular alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign uses removable aligners to straighten teeth.
Short term treatment to address one specific issue. This may involve braces on a few teeth or maybe a retainer.
Breaking orthodontic treatment into two rounds. The first (phase I) occurs when the patient still has baby teeth. The second round (phase II) happens later when the adult teeth are in the mouth. Anderson Orthodontics does not typically use two phases of treatment because we believe it is in the patient’s best interest to address all orthodontic issues at one time.
At first, braces take a little getting used to. Teeth might become tender as they move to a new position. The lips and gums might get sores as they adjust to the new appliances. This is normal. True orthodontic emergencies are rare. They include infection or swelling, unmanageable discomfort, and trauma or injury to the face or mouth. If you have any of these situations you should seek help. Our office is available at 913-651-5040 and we will help you find the solution to address your concerns.
When wires or brackets cause discomfort, covering the area with wax will help ease the discomfort. Please call our office and we will schedule a time to address the poking issue.
Tenderness as teeth move is normal during orthodontic treatment. It is most common when brackets are placed or tightened. For minor soreness you can use over the counter pain medications.
This is not an orthodontic issue, it comes from inadequate brushing. If your gums bleed when you brush, increase the frequency and duration of brushing. Make sure you brush the gums as well as the teeth.
